This is the portrait of Mona Lisa , also known as La Gioconda, that resides in the Louvre in Paris. The Mona Lisa's enigmatic expression, which seems both alluring and aloof, has been the subject of considerable debate. Leonardo Da Vinci painted it probably some time between 1503 and 1505 and it was one of his favorite paintings. It has come to be considered the quintessential Renaissance portrait.
